What is going on in juniper? Interview experience.
Recently one of my friends interviewed with juniper and got an offer. His previous TC at Amazon: 170k with yoe 5 Juniper offered: 150k X offered: 350k While negotiating with juniper, recruiting started threatening him about other candidates and amazon work culture. Recruiter started holding amazon work culture over him and market conditions like toxic work culture, lay offs. At that point, he didn't have any other offer and signed the offer with juniper. But after getting a higher tc offer, he decided to rescind juniper offer and move forward with higher tc. Then, he got an email from the juniper manager saying to HR to black list him from ever getting hired from juniper. My friends reply to manager: Thanks for telling me how communication works at juniper! Glad I made my decision otherwise π My opinion: who gives a fuck about juniper manager blocking himπ The whole scenario felt funny to me π Tech market is low but is it that low π#tech #layoff #hiring #toxic
In Juniper, Cisco some of the teams/manager almost work like WITCH companies.
Paying nuts and plus indian work culture at its best π€£
Also they missed grabbing hyperscaler networking business big time. Almost no big cloud provider use much of their stuff. Surviving from old business.
It's not "one of your friends" it's you. Also, who cares about juniper, is that even a company? Don't sweat it. If they didn't want you to resend the offer they should have made a higher one
