What is more important?
So I’m observing my friends and family in India - who earn way too less compared to US TC (and don’t have this this obsession of earning high TC). But they’re enjoying life wayyyy more. They have : Better food Live close enough to parents, cousins, uncles/aunts Warmer weather No snow All types of entertainment available Go on international trips Weekends are filled with outings and fun Heck my cousins party even on weekdays Domestic help available People are friendlier so easier to make friends Healthcare is better in the sense I don’t have to wait months for an appointment All types of luxury is available (meaning cars, clothes, gadgets, etc etc) So what is the point of earning this high TC when you’re miserable? TC 0 Reminds me of these lines “Did you exchange A walk-on part in the war For a lead role in a cage?”
Man, TC or Get the f.... Come back to India after a few years, also the grass is always greener on the other side. And yeah, snow sucks and is depressing.

Why is your TC 0? -------------------------- I agree that the life in India is way better. There are assholes everywhere but in India you have more options to pick from. The real bummer is the real estate. However if you have a 1800 sq ft carpet 3bhk in India, and your kids go to a good private school (or army school), there is really no need to go abroad. I am abroad to buy myself a good flat/house in India. TC gets you prestige only on Blind. In India, your house/flat gives you prestige. Also, how much do you take care of your parents gives you prestige++ TC C$480K
You earn here and go back as rich and old without a chance to enjoy the riches. That’s how it works.
