Hi all— I’ve been talking to a recruiter at YouTube and made it to the second round of phone interviews. Having said that, I’m unsure of what the culture is like over there. Especially for POC, women. This is very important to me. Does anyone have any insight to offer? Specially looking to learn more about… -WLB -Collaboration -is it a performance based culture like FB? -is it an engineering driven culture more than anything else? (Heard this from a googler who’s worked on YouTube but I’d like to get a second or third opinion before I adopt this as a full blown fact) Etc.. Would Appreciate any insight here :)
As a follow up. What are interviews like at YT? Same as google or are they different?
I started my interview process and it’s similar to googles as far as I can tell..all though it seems like they function independently in some capacity (ie their recruiters seem to be dedicated to YT vs recruiting for Google holistically)
Hey Hulu/OP Howd the interview for YouTube turn out? I’ve got mine soon. Any words of wisdom?
Wlb is generally better than similarly paying tech companies. It’s definitely engineering driven but PMs are generally respected and engineers really do seem to base their prioritization on the PM’s guidance. Not sure what the collaboration point is referring to but yes, people collaborate.
