Title says it all I started with no credit score as an international student. Now after 8 years its 805. How do we take it to 850 or 900? TC:0 Laidoff
24 with 780, a little over 100k in available credit. I hate credit and think it’s horrible that a score can have so much impact on your life. Goal is to make enough where I don’t need credit or see a use for it at all.
Credit is given out in tiers. Anything above 780 is top tier. Doesn’t matter if you have enough TC and can pay cash.
Nice, mine dropped in divorce
810 on FICO and 790 on Experian. Either way, I use just 4% of my total available credit and it’s never been a barrier to getting good interest rates.
22, 760 ish, but that’s after a car loan app and signing a lease on an apt. Usually floats around 780-790
There are over 50 credit score models. Which one are you referring to.
Yeah it also depends on whether there is any hard inquiry history or not (takes 2 years to get removed and will affect score till removed) on a given credit report. It’s like comparing insurance quotes without context 😅
760 in 2 years here , started with 0
810 after 7-ish years. I think two “issues” for me: - I closed long time back my oldest credit card because I didn’t need it any longer (it was a card students-friendly). Dumb dumb decision because that decreased my overall average age of my credit a bit. I didn’t know at the time. - I only ever needed to apply for a loan (my car lease) which was then fully paid off when I bought the car eventually, so I don’t have a history off various / variety of loans on my credit report and no ongoing loans. Overall constantly getting fixated over credit score is really a fixation: just be responsible and pay your cards in full without delays and you’ll easily achieve 750+ quite soon.

Worrying about credit scores is for poor people. Anyone who is even moderately good with money should have a credit score high enough to access the best rates…

I’d disagree with this. Most actual multi multi millionaires i know have below a 750. It’s generally the middle class or upper middle class that care the most about credit
