What level would I expect to get at FANG

I'm currently a vice president of global product management at American Express in New York and have been at this position for 3 years. I'm looking to move to one of the fang companies. Can I expect to get a VP or director title?

I would say almost 0 chance of moving from a VP at Amex to a VP at Amazon but Director should be the right level unless folks on the panel feel that you do not have enough experience. Are you band a band 45 at Amex ?

Director or Sr. Director at google. Vp is a stretch unless you have big wins

What are your responsibilities right now? VP in finance can often mean you’re basically something above a branch teller...

Most Banking sector like Statestreet, Bank of America literally have bands as below for SWE/Product roles Officer - AVP - VP - SVP - EVP - CEO If that's the case then most VPs are essentially Mgr or Sr Mgr in few cases Director as per average industry roles. Facebook & Google equivalent titles like Director will get paid & do much more than average industry VP as per book Radical Candor

probably L5. VP at a bank doesn't mean the same thing as VP at a tech company, right?

L5 being group manager for product?

L7 is "senior PM" L7.5 is "group" L8 is "director" how many PMs report to you right now?

The hierarchy at Amex is not like some of the other banks, VP at Amex is at the higher end of mid level positions and I would put it at par with a very senior L7 or a Director at Amazon

No

Amex isn't leveled like a customer facing bank.
