What should be a good base salary for a Core Java developer with 10 years of experience in Finance in NYC ?

What’s a good base + annual bonus for a java developer ?

Snapchat snapbryo Jan 14, 2018

I'd say 200-250k

And what firm pays that kind of money of like to know please ?

Amazon DaaamDoood Jan 14, 2018

11 years of experience. But beyond Core Java. 250-270k Total Comp with RSUs. Amazon.

Sorry you been through that, nobody deserves to work with java for 10 yrs, don't deny yourself at least a decent 6 figures salary

BlackRock blackrock OP Jan 14, 2018

Very funny ... six figure is too vague though it can be anything from 100k to 999k ! 😏

yes you will likely top out at 200-250k unless you move into mgmt. How much are you pulling in now?

BlackRock blackrock OP Jan 14, 2018

So capital one pays 200k to java developers with 10 years of experience ?

Capital One BrownPower Jan 14, 2018

As with anything -YMMV. But yes - it's a reasonable expectation

Bloomberg BPpW80 Jan 14, 2018

BlackRock pays like garbage. Go anywhere else and you’ll make more money.

BlackRock blackrock OP Jan 14, 2018

I know ... what about Bloomberg ?

Bloomberg BPpW80 Jan 14, 2018

Bloomberg pays well. My job is boring though (I’m leaving soon). More C++ than Java here unfortunately. 10 years C++ probably averages > $250-300k

Capital One BrownPower Jan 14, 2018

How much are you getting paid now?

BlackRock blackrock OP Jan 14, 2018

175k base

Capital One BrownPower Jan 15, 2018

OK then how much of a bonus do you typically get?
