Negotiating comp for a role as a lead android engineer for a company that just raised a 13mm series a from a tier 1 vc. I have never worked anywhere smaller than Lyft so idk what is reasonable to ask for. Company is currently around 20 ppl but I would be android Eng 1. I really like working at Lyft so they would have to make a pretty sweet offer for me to actually leave. Lyft tc: 315k
What level are you currently? Your base will likely be weak, but you don’t join a Series A to be flush with cash - you join one to get a fuck ton of equity.
Any insight on what kind of base to expect? Is “weak” like 85k? 130? Just wondering what to expect
This. You’re investing the difference in compensation into growth of equity value. Def over 100k base but beyond that is a big field to play in.
