Boomers please help educate. Im watching all these dramas about uber, theranos, and wework and how crazy the ceos were. Ive heard about how bill gates and steve jobs were assholes in the early days. I know what elons lile, i never heard much about bezos, aside from the ethics of his business today. #tech
I was Bezos right hand man for most of the 90s. He was always open to my ideas, which turned Amazon into one of the world’s top companies. Me and Jeff have a great relationship!
Did he establish those leadership principles while you were working with him? Did he really personify those LPs?
Falls short on raising the bar for earns trust and bias for action
I dont think bill gates or steve jobs were as much assholes as the stories depict. They were able to create the network and support system with their power to pull people. There is a narrative fallacy in biographies where for the sake of sensationalism certain events are exaggerated and personalities blown out of proportion.
I just meant like. Bill gates clearly finessed something he didnt have to eventually have the operating system. And it takes people like this to push a product. With Steve its similar and he was definitely an asshole to the apple 2 team and just known as arrogant and yelling at his employees in the workplace. With bezos all we know is he started amazon and it became big. No backstabbing, no bad press on bezos until way later
I think Bezos just has a very clear and methodical way of working that allows him to operate in a very ruthless way without shouting and screaming like steve jobs. There is a real low budget movie about Bezos coming out. Check out the trailer online.
Imagine listening to Jeff’s laugh while stuck in a garage all day packing books into boxes. Think after a week or so I’d be dying to join MSFT and watch Bill do his jump over chair trick and sweaty Balmer dancing at the all hands.

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
There is an old 60 minutes episode about Amazon you can check out. It features Bezos quite a bit in it.
Ive seen that but thats just an itnerview its not behind the scenes. Theres no videos of bill gates being an asshole to his employees, in public he seemed fine
I wanna know if he was like hard on his workers or a good boss, etc.
