https://amp.theguardian.com/science/2023/jun/13/spacex-starlink-hire-child-college-graduate How quickly would you hand your resignation?
Congratulate and welcome him to the company. At 14, I was suffering through depression and middle school, which made me hate living and led to me being socially stunted and miserable for the rest of the time in school. At 17, I graduated high school all burnout and hating my life for being unable to perform well in AP Physics. The fact that this young man is already a college graduate and working at SpaceX is very impressive; I only hope that he has the right structure around him to continue to thrive for years to come. TC: 90K, never went to college
That’s great, but management is mostly politics and communication. You’d be ok with a 14 year old who didn’t socialize with their peers running your group?
@ChatNvnt I've had worse
If the 17 year old is smart and not cocky, what's wrong?
I know several 7 years old managers who have their 2 direct reports working really hard and making impact 14x7.
Congratulate him, work together and get some cool stuff done ✌️👍
If babe, then.....
What the fuck? chomo
What would you do if a 30 year old becomes a manager and you’re 50?
If he can perform better than me, I’d give him props and prob feel bad tbh
Why assume "he". This is keeping girls behind.
@amazon because the article literally says "he" "himself" and shows a picture of him? Why care what the gender is at all? That is whats keeping women behind. Instead of focusing on what your goals and objectives are, you are too focused on what the genitals are, whats in someone elses bowl, and being too jealous and toxic and tearing other people down instead of building others up around you, including you. You wanna know the secret to why women are losing? Take a deep, long look at this kid. Hes 17, graduated college, and working at SpaceX. That means he started that little journey around 12, or earlier. Men start work earlier. Career earlier. Saving earlier. Department of Labor, US Treasury, US Census, and Department of Education are those sources. Women dont because they dont care, and they dont have to, as demonstrated by data from Visa & Mastercard. When the toxic entitlement mindset of US and Eastern European women changes, their situation might too. Until then, theyll keep suffering their own animosities.
Good for him, stop being a little bitc h.
Why assume "he/him"
Isn’t this illegal child labor though? 🤔
No it's not and a 5 second google search would've told you about exemptions for graduates above 14. Why do you think a history-making hire wouldn't have been vetted by their lawyers? Why do you think tech companies with all their internal risk and compliance officers are waiting around for some online randos to tell them what's legal and not?
If you are that smart you shouldn’t go work at a dumpster fire company. Go to a research lab like the LHC or something like that.
