I have an onsite coming up with them as a frontend dev. I'm looking to clear over $400K TC to make a move to the Bay tolerable. Those with experience, what's the delineation between an L4 and an L5 dev? How do you demonstrate it in an interview? Per Protocol: 7 YOE/$200K TC
L4 and L5 over 400k. That’s a stretch. And you’re looking to double your comp. I’d say go to 250k to 300k max

The reason why I’m asking is that 350k-400k is possible for FANG, so for a pre-IPO company like Airbnb 400k should be relatively achievable?
I'm L4 making ~300k tc. 400 for L5 here def possible. Ace that system design round or you're toast

Which area do you work on ? My L5 offer was only 300K and with 10 YoE not including sign on and relo . I didn’t take it because I have family commitments and it wasn’t high enough to annoy my family . It could be that my interview didn’t go great but I don’t believe everything on blind .
When was that? 300k is a super low balled L5 offer that I can't even imagine why they even do that.
Last year . It might be on the starting side of L5? I don’t know 🤷♀️. Of course if you added sign on and relo etc it was higher
I heard some L4 offer can reach 400k. We have base + bonus + singon stock + signon bonus for the first year, then significant refresh from y2(25% can be cash). L5 will most likely be over 400k if you negotiate. We look at your coding skill, past experience, culture fit. The internal definition for l5 is that you can lead a team and finish a project from design to launch. If you can demonstrate that in your interviews you will have a good shot for L5
