I see there a lot of posts about Bloomberg. What is it? Trading firm? Magazine? Something else? People from Google go to Bloomberg? Why? Is the pay so high? Just curious Blind tax - 800k
$800k TC and you don’t know what Bloomberg is?
What's in your wallet?
Look closer, they make *negative* 800k.
Lmao imagine making 800k and mot knowing Bloomberg
If you can't show me the direction then your a useless compass.. Also it's not necessary that high TC is that I know everything.
You make 800k a year and don't know the difference between your and you're Our future is f°cked
Their product is some kind of low latency newsfeed for stocks, the more you pay the lower the latency? Not sure about the latter.
Interesting. Thank you.
This answer cracks me up
Assume this is a troll - but in case you're actually just really out of touch it's the software that all of finance uses for research, news, trading, portfolio management and more
Not a troll, just out of touch. I don't work in the field and am just curious.
Bloomberg has two divisions. Software and news. And the software finances the news, cause news is the beloved pet project of Michael Bloomberg.
Ah! Good to know. And I assume software pays a mother lode?
It pays big tech level salaries but entirely in cash cause the company isn't public.
Serious investors pay $28k/year for a bloomberg terminal that gives them reporting from reporters all over the world for anything that impacts finance. (Some of that is available on bloomberg TV but that's probably less of a money maker for them ..)
Woah. That's a saas business I like :)
Its more about the data and the software than the reporting but that's the overall basics Every person in finance pays Bloomberg this every year just to be in the game and has been doing so since the 70s, so it's a very good business model
New pays $800k?
But Google does. Esp if you are a director.
Also you probably don't want to know my TC AFTER stock appreciation.
No one actually explaining here what Bloomberg actually does
The main thing is the terminal which I mentioned .. most of their business is data gathering. 10+ years ago I wrote the system for them to monitor and index 100 audio feeds for relevant data.
Thank you both. Audio feeds. How crazy is that. @emc can you explain more?
Bloomberg doesn’t pay half your TC afaik.
TLs and higher can get more than 400k. Not too sure about ICs, but highest I’ve seen was around 350.
I am not looking to leave or switch.
presidential candidate. can't you google, person?
Rofl
You know the answer or just trolling?
