I heard Pinterest has 15% pay cut (on both base and stock) for LA, which seems a bit high. What is the pay cut for midwest remote? Can I expect 400k+ TC for L5?
Is the refresher good to keep the TC similar or higher after 1st year?
Los Angeles is the same as SF/NY/SEA. All other US geos are -15% base and -10% equity
LA is now considered a premium pay zone. Everywhere that is non-premium gets 15% less salary and 10% less equity. You will not make 400k+ as an L5 anymore in a non-premium zone. Prior to last year you would have, but TC was drastically cut for engineering.
thanks for the insight. was it cut for premium zones as well? what's the typical TC for a new hire L5 (not incl sign on) in premium?
Comp was cut across the board in the US, regardless of zone. Looking at comp table I would expect 370k~ sustained TC for premium L5.
Is L5 in pinterest considered staff or senior?
It’ll be 15% as the remote paycut but we’re still probably the highest paying remote company in terms of TC
thanks! the bay area/NYC pay is similar to meta right? so L5 is around 400-450k TC (recurring), and with a 15% cut it's around 340-380? when meta was actively hiring fully remote in the past, IIRC, the cut was only on the base pay, and initial stock grants and refreshers were the same anywhere within the US I'm currently fully remote at a finance shop and in the L5/L6 range for TC, but I'm strongly thinking about going back to tech.
How’s the culture at Pinterest these days? I’m looking to apply. Is there a ton of pressure / cut throat culture (which seems to be seeping into Google)? I have 2 FTEs worth of work to do and my manager acknowledges it and thinks it’s normal and ‘we just have to do it’
