I got an offer for Sr. Analyst at a firm small middle market firm. Offer was 90 base + target 50% bonus. Seems low to me - I want to know what to counter with. I was going to counter with 105 base + 50% bonus. Should I go higher? I have friends at other banks with Sr. Analyst title at 105 but with inflation and more salary raises looming I am considering a higher counter to preempt this. I had an Associate offer but for a bank that seemed to be a grind house and it was 120 base + 80% bonus so that’s been my barometer. I don’t mind the Sr. Analyst title as opposed to Associate since this bank seems to be growing quickly, decent WLB wise, and opportunity to quickly rise and build out a book of business. I’m targeting banks with <20 bankers.
Which company?
Are you in a HCOL area? Either way, seems like a very low offer
225k
Way too low, even in LCOL your target bonus should be way higher
What is reasonable bank + bonus structure? This is a new bank with <10 people, strongly considering it given they tend to promote aggressively and I like the area. But don’t want to get fleeced obviously.
It doesn’t seem too low, though it depends on where you work and how many years of experience you have.
Beware of “small” companies. I currently work for a “large” bank in the MM, but my department/team is small. Getting absolutely pummeled everyday. Not worth it
Small is always bad if you have no equity
I had an old colleague reach out to me on this and trust her - she left my previous bank for better WLB. Don’t think it’s a sweatshop. I could be being naive
Too low imo. Even with your counter the other firm is still 37% higher..at present it's 50% difference. That's too much. I would personally share that with them and see if they'll get to like 130+50% or 120+65% at a minimum and hold firmly to that.
I don’t have that offer in hand anymore, was just using it as a reference. They told me they worked 14 hours on Christmas and New Year’s Day so it didn’t seem worth it and I declined it. Current offer emphasized WLB (albeit will still be a lot of work)
Asurion. You must be new to workforce. "emphasized WLB" doesn't mean Jack sh*t. Wlb can flip on you with a Manager leaving etc.. Always go for TC.
I am a senior analyst at big firm. They offer 105 as base plus 50-60 percent bonus. I am a second year analyst .
Max out Counter offer with 30% range like 200K and try negotiate middle with one time perks like relo signing etc.
