Considering leaving Goldman next year, what are some of the companies that are considered to be substantial upgrades (culture, pay, tech) other than the obvious FAANG-type companies?
The hubris lmao
Many or most tier twos, all tier ones, all prop shops, and many well funded startups
Almost anything.
Lol, thanks guys 🤣
Blinders are brutally honest aren’t they
Goldman, along with jpm is investing tons of money in tech. In fact that new Goldman CEO described it as a tech company. There'll be a brain drain from tech to bank in the coming years
They've been saying this for years and, yes, it did get better but I wouldn't go as far as to say there'll be a brain drain from tech to banks. A bank is a bank; it's stingy, archaic, and bureaucratic.
Will TC catch up for SWEs in the coming years? Because if not you're sounding like the Albertson's guy
SWE at Intel. Not even kidding
I understand SWE at Janestreet, Citadel etc are very competitive and well paid positions, but somehow a SWE at Goldman Sachs isnt considered at the same level. Why is it so?
Because the pay and talent difference is huge

Honestly, anything. Being a quant is one thing, but an swe position in IB is not really very prestigious.
