My dev history is a bit atypical and curious how blind would tally this YOE: 2013-2016 fresh grad non-cs, hired as dev III at university research lab I was the sole dev aside from boss, no dev team or collaboration , no industry processes (agile, jira, git, DevOps), no infra at scale, handful of users, archaic stack. windows native front end and server side. But coded a lot, learned a lot, boss liked my work. But it was just me, and old tech, with only a few other labs as users. 2017 tech hiatus 18 - open source JS stuff, built RN app for friend's business. No tech W2/1099 19-current. hired in industry as opposed to academia. Used git professionally for the first time. Learned what a story point is. Do I include everything but the 2017 when I was not coding at all? Do I cut out the ~3.5 years doing dev for the lab and just start counting from industry exp? Thx TC 188K
