Today in the Bay I've got to very unpleasant situation. My phone discharged and I forgot charger at home. Without my navigator I couldn't drive, since I don't know the area very well and I was completely lost, since I couldn't get home. I visited few stores with plea for help to charge my phone or sell me the charger and everywhere I was declined by white americans (as cashiers, as well as manager of the store). Only one random mexican guy really saved my life by giving me direction where I can buy this charger. I came to thought today, that I don't want to raise my kids here, I don't want them to be a part of such society, where if person got into trouble, all people will turn from him and step over him. So, I am asking, you guys, which country has better people to raise my future kids around them and where IT field is developed to have a job. Thanks P.s. In my opinion, barometer of society is readiness to help others in need. I am very disappointed, to be honest, in such society, that I live here, in the Bay. Definitely my illusions about this country were destroyed, but it gave me the amazing opportunity to make the next right step in choosing another right society for me and my future family, where people will be kind to each other and understanding, that each of us at the certain point in life will need help (it's absolutely not controllable when and how we will need it). Today you will help someone and tomorrow someone will help you /your daughter/son /mother/wife in difficult situation. We all are connected. And to see such situations in the richest place of the world is super sad.

IRS Warns Thousands of Taxpayers They Could Face Jail Time
Bay Area (and many parts of California) are not representative of the US. From my experience political progressiveness does not necessarily equate to friendliness. Plus big cities tend to have fewer kind-hearted people than rural areas.
donβt live in a metropolitan city the reality is that in those cities, there are so many people trying to mug, cheat, or deceive you in some way. Most people try to avoid interaction with strangers (esp in Sf.... sooo many druggies). Moving to smaller cities in US or to Canada is your best bet if you want friendly strangers.
Your experience in a neighborhood in SF/SJ(?) can hardly be generalized to the whole country! As a rule of thumb, the smaller a city, the more friendly the residents. However, the larger the city, the more tolerant the residents. That holds true in almost every country around the globe. Personally, I like to live in a place where racism is not an issue. I can deal with people not being super friendly.
Muslim countries.
I think this is true for the wealthier non-Arab countries and the poorer Arab countries :)
Are they good to you if you are not a muslim? They way i have experienced it, these countries are a haven for muslims but they look down and discriminate anyone who isn't muslim
Spain.... hands down...
In my travels, Iβve found that Omanis are the nicest people (havenβt travelled much to Africa unfortunately, so may be missing many many countries there), followed closely by Indonesia. I was also treated very well in Japan Indonesia has a booming entrepreneurial ecosystem, but Japan would be tough as a foreigner.
Yeah, wanna people to be tolerant to immigrants as well
Japan is very polite but Japanese culture considers asking for help from strangers is rude. OP if you are lost in Japan, they expect you to go to police or information booth. Stopping strangers in Japan for help is a no no. Japan is not that open to immigration either. Politeness isnβt equal to openness.
Kinda funny imagining you in a store panicking, asking the cashier if they would let you charge your phone or sell you a charger...while they have maps and atlases for sale right next you.
they refused to sell you a charger? Iβd imagine if i was working retail, i would not bring my charger with me to work. Did you not try a convenient store that would sell one?
I've tried dollar store, I could walk to, but they didn't had USB-C! Manager said they don't have any socket to charge ("lier") I was working in retail and always charged if people asked me. I don't know how bad people should be to leave person in problem, if he lost
i doubt a store that makes its money off of selling goods to customers would lie to not make a sale. Seems like your personal bias is getting in the way of a logical situation
Japan.
How tolerant are they to immigrants?
They usually are not very friendly to foreigners and they don't speak English too well outside of Tokyo. Also they don't have a good immigration friendly policy.
Itβs just select states like CA. People in most states are generally nice and try to look out for others. Canada?
Vancouver? Are people better there? I might consider it as well. Thanks!
There are no Canadians in Vancouver.
