What's the point of code quality and architecture?

What's the point of code quality and architecture when Microsoft teams can replace slack in many companies? Slack is way better. Sales has more scope. Learn how to sell and build an average quality product. Any opinion on this?

Can't tell if trolling or serious

Asking it after getting frustrated with teams

Can relate there, it's dogshit. Code quality etc are guidelines, not the end goal

Sales and marketability always trumps a good product. Great products have all 3.

Teams is not a good product

That's where the platform monopoly comes in

Beg to differ.. slack is pretty lacking featurewise from teams.. no integration for live meetings, calls and whiteboards (the last time I used it).. Okay to discuss weather or office politics but nit for serious technical discussions where whiteboard switching to a call is important.. Additionally teams meeting works at really low bandwidths so great even with poor internet coverage

Qualcomm, you're looking at more features but not usability.

No, you just got used to slack the interface is slightly different fonts are different etc.. so you think teams is shit, but after few months will get used to it. Can do the same things as slack and more I moved from teams to slack and found slack is shit.. moreover having to go through meetings through webex and no proper whiteboard really sucked.. They aren't really the same product.. teams is much more feature rich

Our team uses Teams more than slack. We face a lot of bugs while in teams call. Teams chat and calendar are good.
