I am just curious because those are two very important sides of the business but very different. They prob both don’t think the other side is as relevant as they believe they are and should get less resources? I am curious how is Netflix managing the different voices among itself and keep the company moving? What is the tension like and is it the top boss who call the shot?#tech
The culture deck defines the standard for interactions. We all act in the best interest of netflix in the long run. As far as i see, it is beautifully cohesive.
Amazing. Thank u
Budget is top down based on forecast revenue. Content and tech both get their shares. I don't see any conflict. A growing company usually has little internal conflicts, it's not like a mature company trying to cut cost.
So it’s solid top down decision. Good to know. Do people fight for budget and is there any issue between communication and collaboration between those two teams?
Fighting for budget could have happened, but it's likely at VP+ level and most employees wouldn't have the visibility. At the end of the day, we are paid to do a job. Not to fight each other.
