I had my interview loop last week…solved all the questions in the most optimal way. Provided right solutions to the follow up questions as well. Did decent in system design and recruiter reached out to me saying that I didn’t meet the bar in coding. I was really counting on it. Spent too much time prepping for this and honestly not sure what else do I need to improve. Are they interviewing just so that they can reject folks?? Any suggestions on what to improve, please? Location: Seattle
Which location? Is it India location?
Updated the post. It’s Seattle location. Heard India location is broken too.
Microsoft recruiting is awful, you need to talk directly to the hiring manager
Worst interview process, no process, no responsibility, no accountability. They ask anything. I interviewed for data engineering position and interviewer asking me design for micro services even though I told him I never worked on microservice. Interview process is broken.
I had a similar experience at Google. Went in for a data role and got asked Algos as a PM. Sample size of one does not count for these large companies. It’s the interviewer who does not have experience is the cause of the problem.
Bro she's just not that into dude
LMAO what? 😂
it may be broken but maybe you also didn't do nearly as well as you think
I was thinking the same….i ran the test cases and it was working 100% for 3 rounds. And it was the optimal way. Missed out on a couple of edge cases for a round which I eventually fixed.
Which level did you interview for ?
SWE IO
Swe 2
They must have found a better fit. Possibly internal move. Don't take it hard on yourself.
I really was hoping that I would make it through this time.
Their hiring process is very broken. You're lucky if you make it. Doesn't mean anything if you don't make it. 🤗
Nothing about Microsoft recruiting is even remotely acceptable.
