Thank you AAPL and NVDA
Just got a Snap offer for L3, which feels low given I was an SDE2 at Amazon 6 years ago, and have 8 years experience. Did the recruiter mess up? Or is it based on interview perf? Definitely feels like a lowball
Your TC is about 300k+. Is that not enough for 8yoe?
It's based on interview performance. Are you sure you got L3?
Yeah, I did call the recruiter and she made it sound like it was a combination of how well I did on system design, and not having much high scale experience recently (fair but discredits my earlier experience). I thought I nailed the basics of the system design but forgot to mention so extra details like auth. 160k base, 425k stock over 4 years, 112k refreshers which seems in line with with what’s reported on levels.fyi.
Isn't Snap L3 equivalent to senior SDE? That seems like very appropriate leveling for an external hire with 8 YOE if you ask me.
The title is “senior” but according to levels.fyi it’s equal to sde2 at amazon or L4 at google
In that case, it does seem low. Did you interview for L4 and get downleveled? Should push for L4 in my opinion unless their offer is financially really strong.
