Where do you find rental homes?
I am a landlord in Sunnyvale. The place is pretty nice. I put one bedroom with shared bathroom on Craigslist. It is in a 3b2b single family home. The rent is 1300 including utilities. We will also have a master bed and two other guest beds coming up soon. But it rarely attracts people from big tech companies to visit the place. The place is super close to Apple but never see anyone from Apple. Do you view rental homes on Craigslist ? If not, where?

Good location, although a little far from my work location which is in Sunnyvale as well. So, the kitchen and bathroom are shared?
I'm in a similar arrangement and paying 1000$ including utilities .. want to move out.. I looked at your listing.. bathroom and kitchen are pretty small compared to my current place.
I'd recommend to rent out the entire house for $4k rather than a small room
We would like to do so but there is a current tenant staying until the end of October.
That makes things complicated. I'd rather pay $500 more to avoid strangers. Maybe you can ask the tenant to find a roommate so you'll give him/her a discount?
1300 is too much for a shared bathroom. I was paying 1500 with my own room and bathroom in SF.
Try renting the whole place. You will find a high salaried single family.
So maybe try a short term rental until October then rent out the whole house? If you rent for a year you are in the same position- trying to rent out another room.
1300 for shared bathroom looks high. I would say around 1100 would be more suitable.
Shared house? You need roommates.com
I would rather rent the whole house and seek known friends to be roommates than sharing with strangers. Most Indians I know go through roommates section of sulekha.com (US version)
