Where does it say we can't reapply to Amazon after termination?

Hey all, I recently got terminated from Amazon and I have a question regarding re-applying for jobs at Amazon. I have looked through the all termination/separation and pivot docs and for the life of me, I do not see any mention of a condition where I am prevented from applying for Amazon jobs. Therefore, since it is not in writing, I have to assume that this exclusion no longer exists? BTW. While I hated my old team, I know a lot of good teams within AWS/Alexa and since I am on a L1 visa it would be helpful to go back.

It depends - they check how many times you’ve bashed amazon on Blind and go from there.

I’m not sure if it’s legal for them to share you can’t apply, but isn’t it safe to assume you won’t be able to return if you were fired?

It wouldn't be official, but if you apply they can see your work history and probably not hire you. Good luck.

it wouldn’t be explicitly mentioned. If you’re URA at just about any company you’ll be black listed for a period of time Ex. I quit at dominos when I was 16 and I’m prohibited from working there forever

I mean this in the nicest way possible: you need to move on. Even if there is nothing in writing, you aren’t going to be hired back (at least not anytime soon). Even if you get past the initial screens, any manager considering you will see you’re a boomerang and look into your previous history with the company. Hundreds of people apply to every role, they’re looking for reasons to exclude people, not looking for reasons to give people a second chance. I hate to say it, but if they thought you had a future with the company (just not with your team) then they would have told you to look around for transfer opportunities, not fired you. Best to cut your losses and focus on other opportunities

My understanding is that the ban used to be permanent but was recently changed to 5 years (anecdotal - I was never a manager). But as others have noted, the PIP and related documentation are going to be part of your permanent employment profile, so any hiring manager would have a hard time justifying hiring you over a candidate without a performance related dismissal. Regardless of whether the pivot was justified, it was drafted by your manager to make you look like a bad hire/LP fit for the purpose of supporting the URA tag, so you are going to have a very hard time convincing any team to hire you. Honestly, there are so many other companies that will offer a better employee experience - I would just move on and take whatever learnings you can from the experience and apply them to your future opportunities.

I was put on Pivot and took the severance and my HRBP said there was bo restriction on my ability to get rehired by Amazon. On the day I got the Pivot doc another team confirmed they wanted me to join, so I wanted to know.

Amazon products are boring. The week before I left I realized there was nothing left for me at Amazon. All it was was just a bunch of soulless buildings. The awful people there only care about using you for their promo. They don't care whether you live or die."
