I’m currently sitting on five offers. The details are not entirely clear yet, but I’ll post those soon. Before I look at the numbers, I wanted to get some thoughts about the companies themselves. Where do you think is a good move considering growth, compensation, work life balance, and interesting projects to work on. All opportunities are as a senior engineer. Facebook (possible remote/in office) Google Reddit (full remote) Netflix (full remote) Amazon I know I haven’t given much detail here to go off of, but I’m looking for initial insights and perspective, preferably from employees or ex-employees of these companies. More updates to come. Compensation feels like Facebook and Netflix will be most competitive, with Reddit close behind. Any negotiation tips are welcome! YOE: 8 TC: 230 #FAANG #swe #engineering
Whatever you pick, don’t go to amazon
Wow, congrats!
Thanks “Friend” <GO> (I won’t miss the terminal) 😅
Of that set, Google.
With Google the process has been a little slow and they seem to be pushing back on the salary expectations, I’m not sure they will compete with Facebook/Netflix salaries
Google is the obvious choice here, unless someone else pays shit load more.
Happy to hear a googler say that. What stands out at Google? I love the idea of working on big impact projects there, but I don’t want to stuck on a team I don’t like. Also, it seems I may get upwards of $100k more at facebook
I think mainly WLB/culture
I'd take Google for sure if the compensation is close enough or you can negotiate. Having said that can you shed some light on Netflix interview process you went through?
Thanks. Netflix was not a standard interview. More team focused. No leetcode, lots of conversations. But also the most total hours of interviewing ~9 total
Got it, but there were coding rounds right just not directly from leetcode? Would you say those questions were algo and ds focused? Were system design interviews generic like design tinyurl etc?
What were you doing at BLG?
Been here a while, various teams. Great company, but a number of weak spots I wanted to escape.
yoe and current TC? Trading teams or more on new development side?
Google, if not downlevelled too much
I feel I might have been down leveled more than I anticipated
Don't tell me you didn't get L5 😅 Coz that would be ridiculous

Rahul Gandhi is poison but the people who believe in him are a lot worse
Not Amazon, for sure.
This I feel most strongly about as well
