Want to leave BA and move to somewhere else. I make $260K and have small kids so my priorities are: - small town, don't like crowd - good schools for kids - affordable housing, < $700K - good weather, not extremely cold/hot/humid - would be good to live close to the ocean or big lake but then I guess housing wouldn't be affordable - not a deal breaker but would be good to live close to a tech hub in case of changing a job For now I only have Austin TX in mind. What do you think about it? Any other options?
Hawaii?
Somewhere in the Midwest or northeast during summer and maybe California during the winter. Or just California year round at that point.
Cherokee County, north of Atlanta Georgia
Brookings OR or Boise ID. Main issue is your last point, they're far from any big hub
I was thinking Austin before reading your full post. You already got the answer.
Colorado? They have some tech happening
All of those things will be hard to find. North Carolina has a lot of that but is humid in summer. Colorado of course is cold in winter and parts can be hot in summer. I have lived in both areas AMA. Austin will be humid and hot.
Asheville is nice in summer, no?
It still gets pretty humid by west coast standards. I went to summer camp s little west of there for 5 4-week sessions as a kid. Def nicer than further east but still hot and humid many days . I *like* NS humidity and missed it in Colorado and the Bay Area , but I also grew up with it
Seattle in the summer and bay area the rest of the year.

Why is it so G*damn difficult to move money out of India
Can’t beat the California weather, we’d stay here. Otherwise maybe Colorado.
