AWS currently number 1 in market share as they had head start for few years, however Azure and GCP catching up steadily. considering all the features like reliability, scalability, performance, Observability, Cost, developer experience, AL, ML, Security and features in road map. Do azure or GCP will have any chance down the line to be number one after few years? #tech #amazon #aws #azure #microsoft #google #gcp
No, AWS is best
No I don’t think they will ever be number 1 . AWS is far ahead of the game and then there are other DWH and data base and lake platforms like Databricks and Snowflake far ahead in the game .
Microsoft stands a chance. Not because of the strength of their products but because of how they expand on their accounts. Buy they are weak on features and so companies who are looking for infra for their customer facing applications will fall back to AWS. GCP is trying to differentiate as the best ML solution. Maybe ML will become critical for all companies in the future and that’s when GCP breaks through
Amazon is also heavily betting on this, with SageMaker small. I doubt if Google will be a break-away leader even in that. They just won't be far behind
ML and Security
GCP has always been the most developer friendly and the most ahead of its time. When you think about it, AppEngine was the first serverless offering... Back in 2008! The market simply wasn't ready for the Google way of doing things. Google was behind on the "put your stupid Windows Server in the cloud, and keep it on 24/7," because that's not the Google way of operating. (It's a stupid way of operating, but that's how Fortune 500 operates).
yes people started with AWS and GCP hard to migrate to GCP model. GCP ML is great and probably best in the market now, however their infrastructure and backups are not great. Kubernetes is open source from Google, However AWS EKS is super hit and hot in the market with Karpenter cluster autoscaler.
Though Azure sucks, there are more sales people in MSFT who are sitting at enterprise headquarters. That is where Google lacks. Product wise GCP is better user friendly and open source oriented framework.
also,Azure gets the edge as companies running MS product (o365,AD, Windows OS) for many decades will be easy to pull customers to Azure with great discounts.
in terms of dev features, I think AWS is still ahead, afaik there's no good AWS CDK competitor, shit lets you do everything programmatically, can't go back
AWS >> Azure >>>>>>> GCP Source: I Worked at Azure and GCP.. I would still use AWS.. GCP is meh and I doubt they would ever gain market traction..
GCP cloud revenue increasing quarter by quarter recent quater first time in history their cloud revenue higher than youtube revenue.
30b revenue is not market traction 🙃
Whoever is answering Oracle should be put in jail 😭
i can understand oracle, but who the fuck is voting IBM
Both IBM and oracle not even in the competition
