Which Uber office location is better for Junior developer Seattle vs. Denver? I looked on their website, looks like major tech hub is in SF and Seattle, Not too much in Denver. Can someone inside Uber shine some light? No TC, still interviewing.#software #engineering #Uber
I guess Seattle but probably Bay Area first. However, Colorado sounds like the better place
You will not find anyone to hang out with in Colorado unless you are an avid hiker, biker, climber, runner, or skier. It's a much more lonely place than big cities if you aren't into athletic stuff. Just my experience talking to coworkers who aren't into that stuff. I'm into it and have a great social life. They're lonely and depressed as hell. Also, Denver kind of sucks. You really should visit these cities before making a decision.
I moved to the Denver area and find it “meh” as far as cities go. There’s an Uber office near Boulder which is a prettier town, but has its own issues (my single friends are struggling lol). When I visited Seattle, it had much better vibes and being on the water was nice. Homeless situation is rough in either city. Last thing to keep in mind, if something does happen at Uber (ie layoffs), the pay here is much worse than I expected. Col is still fairly high.
Yeah, I want to reiterate what skVT62 said. The COL in Colorado is very high compared to the salaries and wages. Seattle has HCOL but also offers much higher salaries.
Denver office is small satellite location.
