Google being the top here makes me question the people responding: - Advertising business built from AdMob, DoubleClick, … - YouTube straight up acquired - Android straight up acquired … Google launched very few successful *platforms* that weren’t an acquisition. The building blocks associated with them were all bought and taken off the ground by external company culture.
They had some disasters too like Google Plus, hangout...
Search, Gmail, Maps, to name the biggest ones. Android & YT were acquired very early on. For 98% of their existence they've been developed by Google. It's not like they've remained unchanged for the last 15+ years. Also, there's tech innovation as well as product innovation. EG transformer models were invented at Google.
