Does anyone know of which companies have more practical, real-world type interviews and assessment for mobile engineers (iOS / Android)? Such as a take home project and extending it onsite. Asking this question because for mobile engineers, LC style interviews do not always indicate performance on the job for mobile engineers since the job is quite different. If anyone knows of any companies that interview this way, any info would be much appreciated. (I have heard Doordash and Square give take home coding assigments as an option for example instead of LC style interviews). #iOS #Android #interviews TC: 170
Most of the companies have atleast one or two LC style rounds. Initial phone screen is normally LC based. Salesforce had a take home project before the onsite. This is my experience interviewing for mobile positions in the bay area.
How else would they be able to determine if you can process 10m+ user click records on a iOS cluster in logn time?
Lyft from start to finish. It didn't have any algorithms.
Square does, and I went through and ultimately accepted an offer.
Thanks for taking time to answe. How many rounds are there for mobile engineers at Square in addition to the take home assignment?
Asana
Robinhood and Dropbox!
One of Apple’s iOS frameworks teams asked me to design and implement a game using any language, framework and platform I wanted. Other iOS teams are having me go through the standard LC style interview. So, at Apple it depends on the team. You might get LC or take-home project interview.
For teams in Cupertino? Thanks for the info!
Yeah this is for Cupertino teams (though a lot of our teams are spread out all over Europe and the US as well)
