Trying to interview with companies to negotiate with fb / get a better offer. Fb offer (40 RSU/Year, 70 sign, 118base = 175). Asking since many companies have closed new grad roles due to covid. Thinking about interviewing with - Two sigma, Jane street, Stripe?, Amazon?, HRT, Citadel. Any other companies to consider?
There are not many companies that pay well and are having new grad positions open. Which is the reason for the post
Which is why I think you're going to have to live with the Facebook offer if your goal is maximizing TC. New grad offers among top companies don't vary as much anyways.
If you know you want to go FB and just getting competing offers to negotiate, I doubt FB would match finance offers. -I did the same with G and they said that finance offers are not considered in the system as competing offers (they did end up rising offer a little bit but nowhere near matching)
Yeah I heard that. Was just hoping they would at least increase signing bonus to 100k
100k sign on?! 🤯
Bloomberg standard new grad offer is slightly higher I suppose. Though haven’t seen the new grad posting yet.
What is the Bloomberg standard offer?
For people starting in 2020 it’s 145k base, 20k yearly bonus, and 10k sign-on
40 RSU per year? I thought they only offer the value of stocks not number of stocks
Yeah. initial value 160k for 4 years. Should have been more specific
Microsoft and Google might match, but Microsoft TC will fall off a cliff for sure
Google is not hiring new grads
By the time you get to cliff, it will be already 4 years. So what's the big deal., you can always switch.
If you are a new grad, focus on finding the best job which will prepare you for the future- don't worry about TC right now because that's a losing battle.
Yeah that makes sense. I think I can grow a lot at fb. However, Might as well try to make a little bit extra $ while at it. No harm in doing a bit of work to negotiate and get a bit more money. Need something to occupy time during covid anyway
Don't be surprised if you get offers pulled if you try to negotiate.
I already applied a week ago. Thanks though!
Google is not hiring new grads? Are you sure?
Looks like it. Checked career page + posted on blind. Not the best research tho
You didn't crush your internship but you got a return offer to fb, honestly this is probably your best bet right now anyway as you can do your own team selection during boot camp and fb refreshers are very decent. You'd be better off spending the time getting stronger for the eventual role at fb than doing some pointless interviews for a few grand bump on your fb offer. You can easily get promoted from ic1 to 2 and 3 in a couple years which will make a ton of money if you line up a couple of GE and EE performance reviews your first couple years.
So you have already gotten an offer? Thought FB hiring E5+ only currently. Wouldn't it be too late to start interviewing now? FB didn't give you an offer deadline?
I got intern return offer. Still in school which has policy against early deadlines. So I have a couple of months time
How does your school have a policy it can enforce on private companies?
Lol why is amazon on that list
Lol. Just thought Amazon might match(really hopeful)?? So I could negotiate with fb quoting the offer
I think if you can sell yourself as top of the band, AWS offers can be competitive depending on the org and recruiter. my amazon (aws) offer was signing 73 RSU (120k at the time), 94.5 (55 first year, 39.5k second), 111 base, TC was 172k first year (182k counting relo). I had competing offers, but other max offer was 165k. edit: this was for seattle area, bay area offers are higher.
