Do people underestimate E6 role at meta?
Assuming the location is same, job profile is similar & all the offers are similar (+/- 10%), which of these companies would you rather join ? Not including Google since we already know they would win almost any poll on Blind.
Why are stripe and LinkedIn so high? What makes those two particularly desirable if comp is equivalent?
LinkedIn probably because FAANG-ish pay with Microsoft-ish wlb.
I thought pay was irrelevant here. That was the premise of the poll. Da fuck op, giving explanations contradictory to your own hypothetical poll rules.
What the heck does stripe even do? Never used it...I would pick LinkedIn or Dropbox because they actually have useful/non-toxic tech products and good culture and food. Airbnb is like a mobile hotel company and Uber/Lyft is a mobile taxi company...they don’t actually sell software...feels weird. Facebook is evil and their “we connect people” koolaid is a joke. I don’t even enjoy using fb anymore because all I see are vain people seeking attention by posting photos of their ugly babies, people posting dumb memes, and people arguing in the comments.
I would take a bet that you actually have used Stripe, you just don’t know it.
What is it? Checkout page on a website or something?
Honestly I do not understand why amazon sits on this list. Such an outcast.
pay is the same, so are we focusing on comparing culture, perks, WLB, product, company outlook and prestige here?
Pretty much
Where is apple?
Forgot about Apple tbh
Why is Facebook so high if equivalent comps? Genuinely curious.
Career growth opportunities, brand value, perks
I'll pick Dropbox simply for their Cafe.
Ah, a fellow food connoisseur
Hmm... Interesting results so far. I was expecting Uber & Airbnb to lead the pack, & FB to be in a middling position at best.
Sad so see twitter at the bottom. :’(
Yeah, I expected them to beat Amazon at least. Surprised to see Amazon beat Lyft & Dropbox as well.
Stripe but no mention of Netflix?
Forgot about Apple & Netflix
There’s nothing in Netflix if the pay is not exceptional. Not a software business, no career ladder, no job safety, etc.
Microsoft.
