They're part of O&G. I think they do oil extraction
Honestly the comp is similar enough that I think you should decide based on other factors. Eg. Would you rather live in NJ or TX? Which company would you find the work most interesting? Which company do you think you'd have opportunity for higher impact? Which company do you think you'd be able to progress your career faster at? Those factors or more important than straight comp when the difference is only a few grand
I voted SLB, but I agree it’s a massive cultural difference living in NJ vs TX.
Pick the more stable opportunity for the next 2+ years in case you need to ride out a prolonged slump. Lower business taxes, larger engineering team, more critical business initiatives, etc. Reading between the lines of the offer details, take Texas.
Barclays got more clout, esp in fintech
Hey new-grad here. I have an interview coming up for the same position and location next week. Was wondering what your interview was like and what type of questions you were asked
What grade is it at Schlumberger? G11? I'd go for Schlumberger given comp and city.
What grade at SLB?
