White boarding Interview at Reddit (Product Design )

Hello fellow blinders! I have an upcoming whiteboarding interview at Reddit for a Product Designer position. Any pointers/experiences? There is little to no info on “Life at Reddit”; apart from glassdoor reviews which are quite contrasting & confusing! Updated question: #whiteboard #reddit Does anyone have whiteboarding experience with Reddit? Now that things are online - how do you cope up with that change? #reddit #interview #design #tech

I interviewed for a product designer role a few months ago at Reddit. The first round was with the head of design. It was a fairly casual chat, not a very structured conversation. I felt like if I hadn’t been prepared with a list of questions, we would have wrapped up the chat fairly quickly. I was told that he would forward my portfolio and resumé to all the design teams under him who were looking to hire and would get back if there was a match. Received a generic rejection email a couple of weeks later.

Wait so he didn’t even know which teams are hiring or if there is a position? What sort of questions did you dive into? (He asked and you asked)

He did know which teams were hiring, but he said he’d leave it up to those team managers to decide if they wanted to move forward or not. It’s been a while so I can’t remember too many details. Questions were fairly standard - what are you looking for in your next role, why are you considering leaving, etc. I had asked him about how the design team is structured, what areas is the design team focused on at the moment, opportunity to lead design in a product area, etc.
