Who broke the Walmart app in Sept 2021? Never seen ratings that bad with an upgrade

I was forced to upgrade the Walmart app a few weeks ago, and, oh my god, the new app is absolutely horrendous. Went to the Google Play to leave my 1* review today (after finding my login details, because this new version logs you out and clears your cart for good measure), and there's literally thousands of 1* reviews back-to-back, one after another, with the exact same complaint about the forced upgrade to a vastly inferior remake! Is revert never an option in these situations? How could you make a perfectly fine app be so slow and so bad after an upgrade? Never seen so many 1* reviews in a row on any app! #e-commerce #retail #walmart

Awesome for the resume, I'm sure it is! Especially if you ignore the metrics on user satisfaction, and disregard that the most useful features of the app (like looking up prices and stock at nearby stores, or being able to change active store) were nixed. * Responsible for shipping brand new app using brand new and latest technologies X, Y, Z and latest UX practices. * App downloaded by millions of users through a forced update mechanism. * Deprecated the legacy app that was rated 4.2* with 1M reviews. I can imagine so many people progressing their careers from this mishap, especially if they simply omit the fact that the remake has been a disaster with a median score of 1* by the end users, and all use the experience to advance to other companies to ruin more UX elsewhere without any repercussions!
