My onsite at FB London is scheduled in a couple of weeks time. I'm wondering which other companies can match or exceed FB's offers so that I don't get lowballed. Based on my research Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Spotify, Bloomberg and most startups don't pay as much as FB. Jane Street, Two Sigma, Citadel, Jump Trading etc. pay much more, but are also a lot harder to get in. What about Apple, Snap, Twitter, Goldman Sachs, Tiktok? Do mention any other high paying companies you know of. Yoe-5+ TC ~70L($100k, thanks to stock growth)
My pay at Amazon London is more than FB London pay for E4 FB /L5 amzn
When I read the title, I was thinking of Apple Pay and Google Pay. Had no idea Facebook had their own thing.
Yes, he should use tc word instead of pay
Yeh there’s Facebook pay
Snap pays really good I heard, might beat fb
In US, yes. But companies have different comp strategies in different markets.
If you have competing offers snap would beat fb
I'd be suprised if citadel payed much more for eng.
Citadel and other hedge funds can extend very high offers if you have competing offers. Also, hedge funds are very hard to survive so for people who end up staying, pay rises and bonuses can be really high. I wouldn't go to a fund myself cause I wouldn't be able to survive (even if I could make it through the interviews) but if getting a very high TC is your top priority these are defo the places to look at.
Yes Bloomberg is right. Citadel jump can pay upto 300k pounds to swe as well. Source: friend work in jump for 300k
Amazon seems to pay well. I’m accepting an L5 with a ~120K TC.
Amazon has the lowest pay amongst Tier 1 company in London. Banks even better
In my experience, it paid more than Apple.
Had offers from citadel, bloomberg and FB. citadel was close, but FB beat it. Bloomberg way below. Goldman is likely far below these days, banks stopped paying well and moving jobs to india. Plus work more interesting than boring finance. Would never go back to finance unless TC smashes what tech offers.
What would you do if tech RSU based TC and banks cash offer is mostly equal?
Cash beats RSU anyday for me. The amount cash instead of RSU based could make hedgefund interesting. For a bank I still want substantial more before going to one of those environments. Less freedom, less scale/scope, more bozos, red tape and being 2nd class means I want comp for that. Yes, arrogant on my part but once you have the choice between the two .. and in all honesty, FB base beats bank total TC from what I have seen. Even bloomberg is far behind FB TC. Citadel was close though.
@op is this for E5 role ?
If you have 70L in India , why would you take even 120k pounds in London as offer , you would massivly downgrade your savings I hope you are taking a note on Tax structures in UK as well as COL 70LPA gets you approx 5l/month in inr and 120k pounds gives you like 6.5l/m , and cost of living is easily 3x , does not make any sense why would you move
FB yearly stock refreshers are usually great
There's more to life than just savings. I can always come back to India
try Bumble
Palantir also might. Other than that, I believe only those you mentioned. Some very specific/teams position in tier 1 banks might also complete.
How much does GS pay for 4-6 yoe in London?
In the range 90-110k, I believe.
