https://ktla.com/news/local-news/couple-charged-nearly-30k-for-one-uber-ride/ I don’t know anything about the machinery of currency exchange and credit card transactions Person took Uber in Costa Rica and was charged 30k USD instead of 30k Costa Rican currency which is apparently like 50 USD roughly. Bank and Uber blamed each other
But Uber reversed the charge...
Yeah… but what does that have to do with my question ?
We didn’t. It was a bank error.
I care and was interested in knowing. Why are you Uber PR or something ?
Stripe
It was a bank error.
Bank error. The bank replaced the local currency with USD without changing the number. Uber does gazillions of non-USD transactions every day
