Why Google Docs doesn't support code blocks?

Google uses Google Docs internally, including to write specs. How come there is no built it support for code blocks (like in quip). Is there some Google-internal solution that's not available outside? How are you guys managing this?

there are extensions that do that. https://workspace.google.com/marketplace/app/code_blocks/100740430168

Is google comfortable with trusting data to random third party developer?

well i can’t speak for google but u have to agree to some permissions to use extensions, so id think the user is himself liable at that point

Searched for this, nothing public that would be relevant. Is this an internal tool?

Use a monospaced font and put a border around it.

Yeah, using a single cell table and copy pasting from IDE seems to help. But that's just so manual ;(

Do it once then copy and paste. Alternatively, push your sample code to a branch and put a link in your doc to Phab/GitHub.

Are you at Facebook? Don’t they use mostly Quip anyway?
