Why Google Gemini produces biased images?

There's this reddit top comment by WrathPie which makes sense: https://www.reddit.com/r/OpenAI/comments/1awz9pd/personal_theory_on_why_googles_gemini_is/ I'm curious, what's the technical reason of such inaccurate results? If the comment is close to reality, then is fiddling with input by over sanitizing a right thing to do in engineering? They could've just omitted any rules-violating output instead. Why modify the input by pre-processing the prompts? There are result images where it categorically excludes Caucasians and produces diversity focused result, whereas the result should've been exactly Caucasians. It seems the algorithm is deadset on ensuring no majority race results must be shown, regardless of whether that's the right answer or not. Seems like a lot of interference is happening in the backend.

Yeah, the results aren't even diverse/mix, it's complete exclusion of a race i.e. racist

It's hardcoded intentional racism. Googles internal Blind has plenty of people asking the same question 'what is the technical reason?' There isnn't a logical one, it's DEI police altering code to not allow anything to be asked with 'White' as a request or even when it's the logical thing to do (like the above Pope pic), or when you ask for pics of 'dark ages European kings' or something. Blind app sucks and won't let me post pics apparently, just resets the app every time I click image. 💩

The technical reason is likely some combination of tampering with the training data, reward function, human feedback during raining, or some system level underlying instructions sent along with prompts.

They were so focused on avoiding being trapped by malicious prompts and having articles written about how it only shows white people, that they ignored the effects of the pendulum swinging too far the other way.
