Why Microsoft recruiters suck so badly?

I'm always being reached out by Microsoft recruiters on LinkedIn. Most of them are vendors (they have the email prefix "v-") but others are in-house. Now that I'm actually looking for external opportunities, I have replied to four of them saying I'm open to chat: - 2 of them never replied back. - 1 called me 30 mins late and never heard back after the initial phone chat. - 1 never called at the scheduled time and never heard back from her. WTF Microsoft? Why is it so hard to make it through your recruiters?

Because you're sample size suckz. They seem to use significant vendor based workforce. And there are likely 2k+ recruiters working for/with MS. AMZ has 3k+ people in associated recruiting functions.

I've had bad experiences like op described with Amazon recruiters more than any other

I don't doubt it. AWS is known to be a PITA. Keep in mind the HUGE workforce that makes up HR/TA/Recruiting at these groups. The barrier to entry is often fairly low. With the truly good members being far out numbered by the less experienced. Keep in mind that these are people dealing with people. When a recruiter messes up, it's human to human interaction. It's sucks and feels personal. When an engineer makes a similar mistake there emotional weight isn't there. Everyone bungles something

I had same experience. 2 recruiters that contacted me are always missing scheduled phone calls or never reply back

I had the same experience. Ghosted after an on-site. Ghosted after the initial phone screen. Ghosted after reaching out to me on LinkedIn and having an initial back and forth No other company at their caliber has been like this to me :/

Similar experience after completing online assessment.

Youre upset they are working with better candidates or that they didn't formally reject you?

Berkeley Lab jYhw42 May 27, 2019

Well, I am not saying they MUST get back to the candidates with an update, but it would be nice if they did.

Facebook public2 May 27, 2019

Why must they? Shouldn't they focus on doing their job instead?

Microsoft weirvhtd May 27, 2019

They are just trying to say, stay away from Microsoft

They suck for hiring managers too.
