Nearly ~60% goes in fees and tax apart from delivery fee. While only 10% of it is taxes rest is all fee. #uber
So they can make money to please shareholders šš (i donāt even remember last time i used Uber eats)
The same reason why office 365 is so costly. Uber is 150 billion dollar company and they have to profit
Itās because of those workerās rights laws that people voted for.
Are you in Seattle?
I have Uber one subscription, and I also get promotions every week thatās $10 off.
It is because people do not cook for themselves or pick up their own food.
Yes, it's not affordable enough to be convenient. I just drive to pick up my food.
Some people value time over money. Others have an excess of time.
Use pickup orders and find restaurants that don't markup menu prices on this platform
Based on ingredients cost calculations. Restaurants have markup about 60 % on solid food, about 90% market up on drink. Then it gets markup again during delivery. I'm surprised Uber don't just analyzed the order data. Figure out the top 5 most ordered item. And just create Uber brand food to capture that 60% margin. Then give preferential promotion on their own item. It's one way to upsell without actually raising the price.
By markup I meant restaurants that will charge a different price for using uber eats or similar platform vs ordering directly from the restaurant. I have a local place that charges 14.99 for biryani if i call in directly and is priced at 18.99 on uber eats/grubhub/doordash
Time to time I get 40% off from Uber eats. But it ended up basically slightly more as ordering in restaurants + tax and tip.
I used to. But unsure if it was coincidence or by design, I stopped receiving those after I added Uber cash ( couple of hundreds) to my account.
