I accepted an offer from ZG when stock was $185 and started. Now it's $138! :( TC $220k YOE: 2 years Why is there such a drastic drop within the last 2 weeks? #engineering #software #swe #zillow #zillowgroup
Look at the NASDAQ and you'll know why. Tech stocks have been getting dumped for more traditional stocks (e.g. banks). Investor sentiment around Zillow hasn't really changed.
Isnt the stock price calculated when you join? Or is it when you accepted the offer. Whats your yoe?
How many stock units did you get?
It’s great to negotiate sign-on stock when the market is going down. Better than starting when the stock is at an all time high.
Your units are decided after first share holder meeting since you join
You either accept what you got, or you rescind you acceptance based on new reduced tc and renegotiate.
I am not a professional please seek out professional advice. If it were me I'd rush to get in as stock is dropping. No one knows where the bottom is. I think the stock is a great one and grting in after a drop would mean more stock to have increase in value.
