You hear all this talk about how India is the next super power, the Indian century yada yada etc and how India spends the most on military imports, yet India seems to punch far below it's weight in geo politics. All that sh talk about being the back/second office for so many American firms, but yet many Indians flock to the Western world. Why? Aren't there any unicorns in India? No venture money for start ups? No industrial/manufacturing firms? Lack of labor force? So many doctors leave India to come to the US so much so that the country has one of the worst per capita number of doctors in the world leading to poor patient outcomes!! At least with a lot of the LATAM countries, it's the poor refugees that are fleeing and in the case of the Middle East, it's persecuted folks. In India, it's skilled folks who have access to capital which helps them undertake their studies in the US (that even some Americans find expensive) that want to leave. Isn't it bizarre that those with access to capital and education, who are best positioned to help the country, want to leave India? Don't y'all want to make your country better? Is there any pride or is it only on the comment section of every YouTube video! Look at countries like Korea, Japan, Singapore, even China and many Gulf countries, eastern European nations like Poland have all moved from developing to developed status in the span of one - yes one - generation. That's because the citizens of that country decided to stay there, **put in the hard yards to build a strong nation** and use their talents for the development of their countries. All those countries fixed their infrastructure, reigned in corruption, enforced rule of law and justice and strived to improve the lives of it's citizens through education and healthcare. Why can't India with it's young demographics undertake the same? I understand it's unsafe for women, but isn't this an education/law issue ? Pollution? Look at the progress manufacturing hubs in China have made in regards to air quality? **Don't you want to live in your own countries surrounded by your own people and work towards the advancement of your own kith and kin?** Keen for some reasons Fire away. I want the good, bad and ugly TC around 290 post drop

Love the boldness of that comment while working for KPMG. I hope you have a wheel barrow to cart your gargantuan balls around with
Says the jobless. It was meant to be a joke Also, kpmg is amongst one of my clients, I have my own business but I signed up using kpmg’s email. Shitty company for sure
They love prestige more than anything. It’s societal. In arranged marriage, Desi aunties value L3 at google vs founder of startup that raised series C from sequoia. Not the same compared to China, Japan, Korea etc
This 100%. They are obsessed with Image and prestige. They rank everyone by their jobs, cars, and caste. This leads to very little innovation and risk taking.
But as soon as this flip switches and desi aunties become irrelevant they will run behind startups, the key is the herd culture not the Desi aunties.
Too busy trashing the US h1b system.
Why did the Irish, Italians, Germans and every other European that immigrated here do so ? Opportunity. It's the same for Indians. As long as they come here legally and contribute to the economy - who cares ?
💯
Seems like you can’t fathom different cultures being, you know, actually different? Need to travel more.
I am Korean and I exited, so I will just bring popcorn and watch
Let me grab a seat next to you. I always enjoy watching Desi mental gymnastics.

Not by percentage. The sample you see in the US in general is biased and small by percentage. Also, those who are in India and want to make it to the US are small in percentage. Definitely a high percentage of the people who have studied in STEM understand that if they had an opportunity in the US they would earn more. No questioning that.
Personally for me it was getting away from shit work culture, I had started feeling suffocated.
Care to explain? Over work? Lack of boundries? Poor work ethic?
Yes to overwork, lack of boundaries ( at least what I experienced). Managers think it's ok to Whatsapp you on weekends about work. They also don't like hearing a no
