White male privilege is real
Sometimes i see backend devs think their work is so complex and that they are superior to frontend or mobile engineers. Yet when i look at their actual work they just write REST api’s or push around protos. in fact, backend dev is generic and anyone who can code can do it. It takes no domain knowledge. do they just tell themselves that its harder than other types so they feel better about not having any impact on the user and boring projects?
dick fight over what dev work is better is so passé
Doesn’t matter if it’s JS in the back or JS in the front. It’s still just JS.
Using JavaScript in the backend 🤮🤮
You’re unfamiliar with node?
why are you so arrogant? I don't think either frontend or backend is any way superior than the other. Good developers are good developers regardless of which programming language or backend/frontend
People who write any APIs are boring, but people who write high performance code because they are writing systems or optimziign compilers are the real deal. There are some teams at Google/FB who do that like JVM optimization or write low latency C++ code, edge/cdn team, work on data centre optimizations they are the real programmers
Low latency C++ code can be required for both front-end and backend.
I didnt know that. Is there any app interface coded in C++, or some JS component interfacing with C++??
Backend devs have to scale the system. Fronted can have a different set of challenges.
Like making things look pretty
Is load balancing considered front end or back end?
Anyone can be a FE dev it’s easy af. Look at all the bootcamp tards getting FE roles.
Same thing can be said for Backend devs. Bootcamps also push out lots of Backend tards
How many bootcamp tards are in FANG BE roles? Don’t be oblivious
It has to do because they work closer with data. They feel empowered by it. Same as how some people like to act as middle managers.
Your assessment of be work is wrong. Their assessment of fe work is wrong. Case closed.
I mean, it is harder work and more involved when working with scale. Frontend devs have a lower bar and that's why bootcamp devs usually flock to frontend. And the code bases are almost always messier
Which one of these end uses a real programming language, c++? Or is that middle-out?
