Because it embraces the backwards mentality many Indians have. They can remove stupid nationalist apps
Couple of points there: 1. Deleting Chinese apps is backward mentality? What are your thoughts on Huawei being banned across the world from being part of critical communication infra? What are your thoughts on keeping personal data in countries with strong privacy laws (like gdpr) and not handing it over to an athoratarian regime? 2. When you say : "they can remove stupid nationalist apps", are you trying to say "create stupid nationalist apps"? 3. Classic case of whataboutism : gang rapes. Going to ignore that since it doesn't address the topic at hand and is irrelevant.
Huawei ban is a stupid policy forced on people globally by American competitors and American bullying (saying they won't share information with other countries who use Huawei, similar bullying as with Iran tariffs). The criticism is kind of pointless. The US cried when HK protesters were shutdown and now look at US protesters being pushed on the floor and shot in the eye. What are you so worried they will do with your 10 second video clip that an American company wouldn't do e.g. if Facebook/Google purchased tiktok? I've had Chinese phones for 10 years now with nothing negative happening No. They can remove stupid apps like this "delete china". India has a weird number of nationalists like Greece. Sick of seeing people on LinkedIn copy/pasting the same request for Amazon to add a "made in india" search option
Google bending to China's will. They're even deleting China critical comments on YouTube
That is just sad on all fronts.
Because it’s potentially racism?
Not really. I think it has nothing to do with chinese people or culture. It has everything to do with Chinese government policies and data protection. The irony being most western apps are banned by the Chinese government. Would that be racist?
Good point op
