Bow down to SWEs who got into Uber India🙇🙇
One game I have 1,500 hours and actively spent time googling, researching, reading, YouTube to become very good at it. On the other hand, lazy with leetcode and system design. Why that happen?
Because its optional
LeetCode and interview prep doesn't give you a rush. Gaming releases: endorphins, dopamine, oxytocin and serotonin. And it's addictive in nature due to that. What you need to do, is find excitement in the learning, or in passing of tests or certs, or in say doing leet code competitions. Something to spice up the studying and give your brain a 'reward' to show it 'LC Gooooood'. Like...eat a yummy snack after every LC session or something. Train yourself to reward your good prep and it can in time help your brain rethink prep.
Cause it's not instant gratification. Investing in career is short term sacrifice for longer term gain, video games is the opposite. Same with eating healthy vs eating junk food.
Why are good things hard and bad things easy? I don't think a tiger is like hmm idk Bill I don't want to hunt today.
Because humans technology and lifestyle changed quicker than we could adapt.
