I have put in my resume through a referral for few relevant PM ( non tech) positions this year. Tried my luck last year as well. But I never hear back from Microsoft for interviews and ultimately get a rejection email few months later. YOE:3 I have secured offers with same resume from Amazon, BCG, A.T. Kearney, Wayfair, etc and interviewed at Google, Tesla. Whats wrong with Microsoft? Is it because I have less experience?
wtf? since when was getting rejected not "hearing back"?
I mean for interviews
Their system is a total disaster, same thing happened to me and many others whom I know. They’re losing out on top candidates because of this
Msft has many teams, apply at least 100
This must be it. I applied several times to different roles and after a few months got a response for 1 of those roles. But even that response is a mini questionnaire.
They are the worst at this. It’s just plain luck if you get a good recruiter who will drive the interview process forward for their feckless hiring teams. I gave up long ago. When a recruiter call from MS I just say no thanks.
Microsoft hiring is awful. Their recruiting is outsourced, and everything takes soooo long. Even as an internal candidate it can still take a crazy amount of time to go through the process. I was laid off there from a fiscal year global restructure, and it took 6 months to get a couple solid interviews on multiple teams, and this was months after I accepted an offer from AWS, multiple hiring managers reached back out to me on LinkedIn and text message to recruit back.
How does that company function! It’s ridiculous that they can’t get something so important right.
Don’t worry. You’re not the only one.
