Why do Indian managers hire mostly Indian DEVs?

Indian managers really have a tendency to hire devs of the same ethic. This happens around many teams in Microsoft. But why? Indians trust Indians?

Besides being smart and capable, I want people who are nice, easy going, low drama, workaholics, enjoyable lunch companions, etc.
If they all look the same, that's fine. If they are different, that's fine too... But people generally prefer to hire people like them. It doesn't always work out well, though... I had a lesbian boss who hired 4 of her lesbian friends... That was a horrible experience seeing a bunch of lesbians fighting with one another and in tears all the time.
The best team I ever worked for was one where we were all B+ players and had a great comradery and loved working and hanging out after work. We shipped some amazing stuff. Once the band broke up the magic was gone.
Being a super nerd isn’t everything. Some of the brightest devs I knew were royal pain in the asses to work with and manage.
There are awesome people out there that break the stereotypes. Your job is to find them.
