Why do Indian managers hire mostly Indian DEVs?
Indian managers really have a tendency to hire devs of the same ethic. This happens around many teams in Microsoft. But why? Indians trust Indians?
To feel and to keep their jobs safe. If any manager is not supporting diversity they should be fired

No! You are either very immature or a fool. Besides being smart and capable, I want people who are nice, easy going, low drama, workaholics, enjoyable lunch companions, etc. If they all look the same, that's fine. If they are different, that's fine too... But people generally prefer to hire people like them. It doesn't always work out well, though... I had a lesbian boss who hired 4 of her lesbian friends... That was a horrible experience seeing a bunch of lesbians fighting with one another and in tears all the time.
Not true...I have an Indian manger who is a badass. More than half of our team that he's hired is Chinese, 1 white dude and me, half Indian. There are awesome people out there that break the stereotypes. Your job is to find them.

I’m half joking BTW. But racial nepotism is a thing. I don’t know if Indians seem to be the bigger perpetrators of it or if it s just because they’re just so many more Indians that they’re the most common case.
I’ve not found that all Indians display this tendency to select only their own countrymen. I’ve seen a couple of Indian managers (who were from the Kshatriya caste—is that the difference?) who had true multi-cultural teams. But I’ve also seen a larger handful of Indian leaders who definitely worked it out so that they only had Indians on their teams (those guys were Brahmins). I don’t know if that is a differentiating factor, though, because obviously sample size is small.
Nice loaded question. This is not true. Why do many white managers prefer to hire white workers? There’s many teams with Indian managers who don’t have a strong preference for Indians. The same is true for many other ethnicities. Stop generalizing. You sound like you just got rejected by a team or can’t get along with your team and are blaming it on race. Playing the victim 101.
In an American company any time recently, I bet you can’t actually point to a white manager who has only ever hired white people on a multi-year basis

Actually, this unironically might be the reason. Have you considered that people sometimes actively try not to join teams that are more than 50% Indian or 50% Chinese? Sometimes it’s the racists who assume a team would be bad and not join it. These guys then like to play the victim and pretend as if it’s the manager’s fault.
When interviewing for Microsoft, it's not like you have a choice to choose your team. You're interviewing for a specific team. Are you suggesting to reject an offer if you come to find out it's an Indian-majority team or are you suggesting to request a different team to interview?
