Median tenure (years) HPE: 8.3 IBM: 7.4 Oracle: 5.8 Intel: 5.4 Vs Amazon: 0.8 Facebook: 1.4 Netflix: 2.8 Google: 3.5 If people have better benefits at MAANG and similar why do old tech companies get better loyalty? Data from LinkedIn TC: 132k YOE: 2
Cause most of the old companies have senior engineers and these type of companies don’t hire new grads as much as faang
Average is brought up by 50+ year old rest and vesters who have been there since the 90s.
But it's not average it's median, the 50% in the center ignoring the extremes
People have recently discovered job hopping for TC.
It is the people and what they want and nit the companies. Some people Chase TC,some comfortability and some rest
My guess would be that FAANG attract people chasing high TC, which also means job hopping. People at IBM, Oracle, etc. are chilling.
Exactly
Ppl at IBM are chilling 🙈🙈🙈🙈

Hard to get rehired at Bloomberg

Obviously WLB.
Those are called retirement house for a reason
Because a lot of people in the first category are basically unemployable
+100. The “good” talent aren’t at those companies anymore. And the remaining talent can’t easily job hop to a better place. Thus you get high tenure.

Is that tenure for all time or last few years? I'd imagine the last few years are different
I'm guessing all time since the profile creation in LinkedIn
