Why everyone doesn't want to hire me?

iOS SWE. Applied for multiple positions at Apple, was invited to only one EM call to discuss the fit. Rejected. Asked recruiter to share my resume to the other teams. Silence. Sent 12 connection requests to Stripe recruiters on Linkedin, no one responded. Silence. 7 connection requests to AirBnB recruiters. Silence. 3 requests to Verkada recruiters. Silence. 2 requests to Plaid recruiters. Silence. What the heck is that? No one wants to hire an engineer? The only one really proactive recruiter was from Twitch, but it turned out I don't fit the position at all, I admit that. Amazon/AWS/Tiktok spam on LinkedIn relatively often, but I don't even want to spend my time on them. No idea what other companies to add to my list, there isn't many decent options for iOS engineers in my opinion. Meta RIP. Netflix RIP. Don’t worry, it’s just the timing and market situation! Keep trying, or take a short break ! Good luck !!

You are probably being too honest about something that you need to lie about.

What is your iOS skill set?

I'd say it's pretty standard. Objc & Swift, UIKit, comfortable with SwiftUI. I actually had a lot of experience here and there, so it should be a match if the position is not niche, like it was at Twitch.

Hiring freeze bruh

It’s because your current company is 💩. Recruiters get pings from thousands of people from companies like yours, there’s nothing to differentiate you from the riffraff. You know those spammers from “Amazon/AWS/TikTok”? I’d suggest trying to get a job at either of these and then attempting to switch again to a company of your choice once you have better credentials.

You think recruiters see my connection requests and ignore them because of the company? I actually think they just forgot that they should work 5 days week and they prefer doing nothing instead.
