Seems like what alibaba stock was last year. Solid business atm but stocks keep getting dumped. Why are people losing belief in this company? Honestly, even if there is an app that can be as addictive, it’s not like you can build the infra and data centers. I dont believe you can do what meta did over the last ten years easily. I want to buy the stock but afraid this is some political risk that’s unrelated to the business.
"Even if there's an app that can be as addictive, it's not like you can build the infra and data centers" Well tiktok is now pissed!!!
I don’t think the us gonna sit idling when tiktok reach 1bil users. It’s a huge risk letting a foreign/hostile/Chinese social media taking over
Market doesn't factor in just US. You are limiting your reach either ways. Meta has to beat Tiktok, politics is not going to help make any dent.
Zuckerberg has done a fantastic job. But it's time for him to step down and signal the investors that it's not a family run business.
Zuck is still trying to innovate with meta verse. If he hands over it will be the end of Facebook.
Constantly declining user base in core products (FB, Insta), massive bet on Metaverse that is a long way from paying off (if it ever does), weak attempt to muscle into Microsoft’s space with Meta Workplace, overall company feels like it is big on ideas but short on results right now
Apple changes its privacy policy, so targeted ad is not as effective. And slowing user growth. This is why zuck is building metaverse, so it's not dependent on apple or Google platform. From the ad buyer side, the $dollar per impression on Facebook ad is much higher and have lower conversion rate compare to tik tok. Plus the whole tech deleverage due to interest rate hike. Long term I'm sure zuck can M&A his way out of it. But short terms it got a lot of head wind. I probably wait for rate hike to finish and next earning call before finding a bottom
Slowing user growth lol.. they have like 30% of the world population
Zuck got burned out and is now busy playing vr games all day
The quantity and difference between answers here is a good indicator of why. Many problems.
Business model doesn’t stack up.
Zuckerberg holds a controlling stake in Meta and he's very convicted about the meta verse which is very cash flow intensive and nowhere near making real money. That plus all the privacy and data issues make meta look like it's future is cloudy
Yeah but with a current pe at 12 and spy at 23, the investors are expecting future earning cut in half. I don’t get it
If recession + ad slow down wont be 12 anymore
