Can people on Amazon fix this? I am an Amazon Music Unlimited subscriber for years and not planning to switch to Spotify, but serious thinking about moving to Apple ecosystem. The Amazon Music app is horrible. The UI is extremely confusing, it messes up collections, has no clear use cases, it doesn't integrate well with Echo (MAJOR WTF!?!?!?), so mamy broken scenarios... Really, can't you guys get this right? Hint: when I connect my phone to the TV and play YouTube videos it's seamless. Learn something from Google, please.
Correction. Why is Amazon <insert product here> so bad?
all amazon services are substandard. if they weren't packaged under prime, i doubt people would subscribe to many of these services

Op Microsoft OS is SO ugly compared to Mac. It has no taste
MacOS is crap and iOS is crap as well. Read my response below.
Steve Jobs on Microsoft: "They just have no taste."
I wholeheartedly agree with him. Apple also has no taste, though. I've tried Apple products before and they suck as bad as Microsoft, if not worse. I really can't stand it. Their hardware is mostly better, but software and UX suck big time.
BTW that quote comes from a documentary called Triumph of the Nerds. Steve's interview was later extracted and sold as "the lost interview" (that was never lost, it had always been there for anyone to watch), but it just has like an extra minute of nothing. Apple stole all the good ideas from Xerox and Jobs was such a jerk that he ignored everything that was great about the 3 presentations that he saw (Postscript language for printers and Smalltalk language), focusing only on the UI part (which was indeed baffling, but UI alone can't do more than the underlying software). That's his problem. He only saw the part that could make him money. Woz is the greater genius that actually delivered the stuff Jobs was selling. No sympathy for Jobs, all hail Woz.
I know some people on the original team for the echo music unlimited experience. They apparently had "milestone days" before VP presentations where no one got to leave until they crossed functionality off the whiteboard. They wouldn't leave until midnight or 1 after getting in the office at 9 that morning. No morale.
I agree with op. The UI design is also super tacky. And does not work well with Android Auto which I need. That's why I use Spotify, Market leading in nearly every category for a music app.
I refuse to switch to Spotify after the Joe Rogan fiasco.
Cos Prime is an insanely good deal so it does not matter
Amazon Product Designer Guide 1. Create a crappy app (copy from existing ones like Spotify, Netflix, etc.) 2. Package it with Prime 3. Increase Prime membership price Congrats, you will get a bonus now & people will use it too because of SUNK COST fallacy.

I donāt think Amazon pays attention to UI in general. Look at their website, itās like tons of things on the screen.
At least on the retail site, everything is meticulously A/B tested. It exists that way because thatās what generates the most value.
Prime video is alright
